Roof tiles are designed mainly to keep out rain, and are traditionally made from locally available materials such as terracotta or slate. LEAD WORK

Lead is one of the most effectively recycled materials in the world and today more lead is produced through recycling than mining. While the installation of lead may at first appear marginally more expensive, the fact that it’s an exceptionally sustainable building material, as well as having a long lifespan and good appearance make it great value for money.

GUTTERS, FASCIAS AND SOFFITS

The fascia board is the one mounted at the point where the roof meets the outer walls of the house and is often called the ROOFLINE. However most people refer to it by the name of the main board that carries the gutter – the fascia or fascias.

VELUX WINDOW

Full installation of a GGL centre pivot roof window using EDJ flashing, including underfelt and insulation collars and vapour barrier. Using the ‘blue line’ recessed installation method allows the window to sit 40mm deeper in the roof structure.

CHIMNEY WORK

Chimneys operate on the principle that hot air rises above cold air. The movement of hot gases rising from the fire creates a pressure difference between the inside of the flue and the room. This is called a “draught” and it forces air into the fireplace, this air feeds the flames as it rushes past the fire.
